Spirituality & Meditation Center
Walk the labyrinth
an ancient spiritual practice that goes back thousands of years. Unlike a maze, there is only one way in, and one way out, as you trace a continuous path that twists and turns, finally arriving at the center. Pilgrims have used them for centuries as tools for meditation, for discernment, and for reflecting on life. One of the most famous labyrinths was built in the early decades of the 13th century in the floor of the Chartres Cathedral in France. It has inspired a labyrinth revival that has seen the labyrinth become a major spiritual tool all over the world.
There are guides for use of the Labyrinth, including meditation suggestions to make your experience more meaningful.
For those who prefer to do their contemplation sitting down, we have a finger labyrinth as well.
Pray
We have a binder with different ways of praying - take a sheet and try a new way, or settle into one of our adult bean bag chairs or other sitting areas and take some time for a conversation with God, or just sit in silence together.
Visio Divina
A way of praying that invites us to use our eyes. Find the box full of photographs, and the suggestions for using them as a prayer tool.
Zen Sand Gardens
There's something about drawing in the sand that engages the mind and body in a different way.
OuiSi Cards
A game often used to provoke conversation for all ages, it can also be a tool for personal meditation. There's a guide book with the cards - play with it!
The Gift of Water
Perhaps you jsut want to sit and listen to the sound of water - the source of life. If the fountain isn't turned on - feel free!
Journaling
There's blank journals you are welcome to use to journal, or draw, or color, or whatever your heart desires.
