Jane is a native of Lincoln Nebraska and grew up in the First Presbyterian Church. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Medicine where she received her MD degree and completed a Residency in Psychiatry and a Fellowship in Child Psychiatry. After practicing psychiatry for many years in a variety of settings including the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, private practice, and the Veterans Healthcare Administration, she accepted a commission with the Air Force. She served as a psychiatrist at Keesler AFB (Biloxi MS) and then as Chief of the Medical Staff and psychiatrist at Minot AFB (Minot, ND). She retired from the Air Force in 2016. While serving in the Air Force she entered seminary at Iliff School of Theology and received her Master of Divinity degree in 2018 followed by ordination in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in 2019. She has served First Presbyterian Church as Parish Associate for Caring Ministries since 2019 and also serves as a chaplain associate with CHI Health in Lincoln.
Running, biking, hiking, backpacking, and cross country skiing are favorite activities along with playing flute with the Lincoln Community Concert Band.
