FPC Dinner and a Book – A Discussion Group

April 20, 6:00 pm - May 18 - 7:30 pm  |  The Eatery Restaurant

N.T. Wright’s book, Surprised by Scripture: Engaging Contemporary Issues pushes the reader to discover why the Bible is not as narrow as many think.  In this collection of timely essays, bishop and Bible scholar N.T. Wright helps us probe the cultural and religious mores of our day, exploring contemporary topics such as the science vs scripture debate, the role of Christians in caring for the environment, politics, and more, showing us a vibrant and restorative way to move forward.   Each week, the group will gather together to discuss the week’s chapter and dive into a respectful and thought provoking discussion about the topic. Join us on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:30 pm at group members homes for light appetizers and discussion.  You can contact Kris Brammer for the address each week.

Please note that each chapter is a stand alone chapter and does not require the participant to have read previous weeks readings.

Books can be purchased through Amazon and are available in e-reader, paperback, and used formats.  A copy of the book is on reserve in the church library as well.
