PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

What Presbyterian Women Do

Presbyterian Women (PW) understands that scripture asks us to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. As such, Presbyterian Women are active in our local church and in the world, having an impact far beyond our own walls. We are involved in discipleship through study, hands on ministry and service, and community building work, both locally and around the world. We seek to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.

What Does That Look Like Here?

Bible Studies & Fellowship Groups

All women are invited to participate in our Bible studies and fellowship groups.  Currently we have three groups, a morning, afternoon, and after work group that each meet monthly, and study the latest Horizon’s Bible Study.  These are incredibly powerful studies!  Check out the Studies and Fellowship Groups under the “Get Connected” tab to learn about the individual groups.

Food Ministry

What can we say – church people like food!  And our Presbyterian Women are always available to help whenever food is needed.

  • We regularly provide the dinners for Sunday Night Youth Group
  • It is a joy to provide food for church functions and events, such as special celebrations, concerts, and pretty much any occasion that calls for a good meal or refreshments.

If you would like to help with this nourishing ministry, let us know!

Sewing Ministry

We have a small but mighty group of women who do sewing projects for the church:

  • Blankets for newborns
  • Worship bags for children to use during services
  • Other projects as needed

Beginners and Experts alike are welcome!

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance

We gather supplies and donations to put together Hygiene Kits and School Kits for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA).  PDA is often one of the first aid organizations to respond in times of disaster – natural or human – and the last to leave.  This is one small way we can make lives a little easier when disaster strikes.

If you’d like to help with donations or by assembling whole kits, the buttons below will tell you what’s needed.  Donations can be dropped off at the church office anytime during regular office hours.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

We make knitted prayer shawls to give to people to wrap them in prayer in times of need, and to give to people on the occasion of their baptism.

If you would like to help make prayer shawls, please let us know.

Special Offerings that Change Lives

Through your generosity, Presbyterian Women have been able to help build God’s Kingdom in powerful ways.  We receive two special offerings every year for Presbyterian Women’s work around the world:

The Thank Offering provides much-needed financial assistance to 20 to 30 worthwhile programs each year. The recipients are always a mix of domestic and international projects, but all meet crucial needs. At least 40 percent of this offering funds health ministries, often helping the most marginalized members of God’s community. The remaining percentage supports new or expanded projects and small capital improvement projects.

The Birthday Offering awards grants to up to five programs. Primarily making possible capital improvement projects, the Birthday Offering supports domestic and international ministries, focusing on areas such as agricultural development, child care, community organization, criminal justice, drug counseling, economic justice, elderly care, employment training, homelessness, literacy, violence or women’s concerns.

Donations are always welcome.  Click the Give tab on the menu to donate.
