Children’s Music Groups

We have several music opportunities for children at First Presbyterian.

For those ages 3-8,  we have RING & SING, a beginning music group.  We use our voices and various instruments, including the Kid’s Play handbells to worship God.  Children also learn about keeping a steady beat, understanding dynamics and tempo, and begin to read basic music.  Rehearsals are Sunday mornings from 9:15am-9:45am (right before Sunday School).

4th graders and older are invited to participate in KALEIDOSCOPE, an intermediate level handbell group.  This group is geared towards those who can read basic music.  We use various handbell techniques and learn a lot about playing in an ensemble.  Rehearsals are Sunday evenings from 4:15-5:00pm (right before Youth Group).

During the first 15 minutes of Sunday School, children of all ages combine together to sing and worship.  Occasionally they share the music they learn in this “Chapel Time” with the larger congregation.  Additionally, during our Children’s Offering time, we invite individual children to share their own talents with their peers.
