Children’s Mission

One of our major goals at First Presbyterian is teaching children to love their neighbors.   Children’s Mission Time happens from 9:45-10:00am each Sunday morning in the Chapel.  All are welcome!

Each week in “Chapel Time” we learn about a specific cause and ways that we can help out, showing God’s love to everyone.  In 2010-2011, the children supported UNICEF by trick-or-treating in reverse for Halloween; bought a goat and a flock of chicks from Hiefer International, supported the Faith Build with Habitat for Humanity, and contributed $100 to Church World Service Refugee relief.   In addition to supporting world-wide causes, our children learn about ways that they can love their neighbors here in Lincoln.  Together, they donated 182 pounds of food to the Food Bank and made individual laundry detergent bags to be handed out at our local food distribution, as well as donating supplies to the Capital Humane Society and walking in the annual CROP walk.

What CAN we do?

In the 2011-2012 year our mission focus was all about caring for God’s Green Earth.  We were excited to present to the children many things they can do to appreciate, understand, and care for this amazing place God created for us.

In 2012-2013 our children will work together to support the CROP Walk, UNICEF and Equal Exchange Coop.  They are also collecting donations for the Capital Humane Society and Toys for Tots.  Our children are learning that together they really can make a difference!
