Join us Maundy Thursday, April 18, at 7 pm in the Sanctuary for a special communion service and service of darkness.
“Maundy” technically refers to the tradition of washing the feet of the poor on the night we remember Christ washed his disciples’ feet the night of his last supper, before his arrest. Not all Maundy Thursday services include feet washing, now the word “Maundy” has come to be associated with the day of Jesus’ last supper, whether the service includes foot washing or not.
Our service will be focused on the celebration of communion, and the story of the betrayals that night, when all who knew and loved Jesus turned their backs on him. It is a powerful service in which we are invited to recall his love, that is stronger than our betrayals.
Everyone is welcome, no matter what religious tradition you are from, or no religious tradition.
